It is ranked 18th wealthiest county in the US (2000), and 2nd  in California.    It was the only district in California to pass a special supplemental funding measure (a 34$ parcel tax)  for the community colleges (2010-2014). (Measure G) .  This brings in between 7 and 9 million in revenue, beginning in 2010-2011.
